 We are currently open for new membership applications. We welcome applications from men and women with a genuine interest in sailing and motor boating. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Royal Dorset Yacht Club please come in to the club and to discuss membership and to see what great benefits the club can give you. The Club has an active cruising calendar and if you enjoy sailing or power boating in company then we have a place for you. We are also an accredited RYA Training Centre and run a number of courses for members. If you enjoy a competitive edge to your water sports then why not join in a Club regatta or race where there’s even a special "Gentlemens'" non-spinnaker class for the cruising boats to try some more relaxed racing. Weymouth and Portland is already renowned for its yacht racing facilities and this has been recognized by its selection as the venue for the sailing events of the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. The Club has an active social calendar, with both informal Club Nights and more formal events throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming you to the Royal Dorset. Please take time to read our Guidelines for Proposal for Membership before completing an Application Form. You will need a member to sponsor you but you will find the club’s members welcoming and sociable. Please also complete a Direct Debit mandate for payment of your Entrance Fee and Annual Subscriptions. |

Situated in the beautiful coastal town of Weymouth the Royal Dorset Yacht Club is at the gateway to idyllic well sheltered waters set against the backdrop of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site. Both power boaters and sailors will find superb facilities in Weymouth and Portland.
The Club has a unique location directly overlooking Weymouth's 17th century Old Harbour close to the visitors’ berths and town centre failities, and within a short walk of the marina.

RDYC has a long and proud tradition and is a place to come and relax with like minded friends and to share stories of cruises, races and social events. All visiting Yachtsmen to Weymouth are welcome to use the Club Bar and facilities.

Come and discover one of England’s truly special places! The harbourside is steeped in history, with links to the Black Death, Spanish Armada, the Civil War and the D Day landings. Take the heritage trail and discover more of its history or just soak up the atmosphere of a bustling working harbour and watch crabs, lobster and sea fish of all kinds being landed daily. But if you really want to get involved, take a boat trip across the bay, try out the speedboats or join one of the diving trips.
