About the Channel Hotel Weymouth

The Channel has 11 bedrooms comprising of a mix of single, double and family rooms to suit the range of guests we regularly welcome into the house.  We are family friendly and welcome children of all ages. 
 

All of the sea view rooms have unobstructed views over Weymouth bay.  Family rooms all comprise of one double bed and two single beds.

As part of the cost of your accommodation we offer complimentary parking permits and wireless internet access.  Some of our parking permits also allow free parking at local visitor attractions around Weymouth and the surrounding areas.  For those travelling by rail or coach we’re ideally placed just a few moments walk from the railway station and coach stop.

We hold a three star rating from Visit Britain and Associate Guest House rating from The AA, and have  recently won a Silver Award from Weymouth & Portland borough council for our food hygiene standards.
 

We are also awaiting grading by the Green Tourism Business Scheme, to assess our success in the reduce, reuse and recycle activities that we already follow, together with our other green business practices.

Welcome to the Channel Hotel Weymouth

The Channel is a Dorset bed and breakfast situated in a beautiful grade II listed Georgian town house. Originally built in 1797 and located on Weymouth’s famous Esplanade, our bed and breakfast in Dorset is opposite the sandy beach and looks out over Weymouth Bay, which is a view which has to be experienced to be fully appreciated.

As a family run Dorset bed and breakfast we’re here to provide a warm welcome in comfortable surroundings and to make your experience within the house and in Weymouth a memorable experience that will have you wanting to come back again and again. Our bed and breakfast visitors book has many entries that tell us how comfortable the stay was, how good the food was and that it was like a “home from home".

Weymouth's popularity as a seaside resort is attributed to King George III who came to bathe in the sea as a health cure for his nervous disorder.

The beach is superb and consists of sand which sweeps around the bay changing to shingle along the extended promenade. All the usual facilities are on hand, Punch & Judy, swing boats, trampolines, volleyball court and Weymouth's famous sand modeller.

As one would expect of a coastal resort, water sports feature prominently in the list of activities. With excellent wind conditions all year round the waters of Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour are a Mecca for windsurfers and dinghy sailors, and divers come to the area to explore the wrecks lying around the coast. As one of the top angling venues in the country Weymouth offers all types of fishing, from the child's rod dangled from the pier to deep sea fishing trips which can be booked from one of the charter boats in the harbour. Golf, cycling, walking, bowling, swimming, the list of opportunity for sport is endless.
